Hire the machine and the power in one order
Electric plant hires stall on one question: how will the customer charge it on site? Here is how hire fleets are answering it.

A hire desk can quote an electric excavator in minutes. What it often cannot quote is the power. The customer's site has no supply yet, the temporary connection is weeks away, and a generator would undo the point of going electric. So the hire goes back to diesel, not because the machine failed but because the plug wasn't there.
Send the power with the machine
MAX is a mobile battery with DC fast charging built in. It charges any make of electric machine on site, topping up from whatever is there: a limited site supply or a generator running at its most efficient. The customer gets one delivery and one invoice; the hirer keeps the machine on rent instead of watching it go back to the yard.
It moves like plant
MAX is exempt from ADR in the UK, so it travels like any other piece of plant. The MAX300 tows on a standard trailer at under 3.5 tonnes and delivers up to 400kW DC. The MAX1000 and MAX1500 drop from a hooklift truck in under two minutes. That is what makes it hireable: the same drivers, the same lorries, the same paperwork.
Proven with hire and rental firms
Horizon Plant, Ireland: MAX runs in hybrid with the generators on tower cranes, cutting fuel by 70% and saving £1,500 a week. FTVS, part of Aggreko: a MAX300 charged 12 electric vehicles off-grid for a month at a vehicle launch. Dawson Group: in a trial, MAX ran in hybrid with the generator powering a commercial chiller, with projected savings of £75,400 a year per site.
Earning between hires
A battery that sits in the yard should be earning. Between hires, MAX can be connected at the depot and earn from grid services, which changes the payback on the fleet. Our planning figure for grid services is £60 per kW a year, although what a unit actually earns depends on when and how it is plugged in. MAX is available to buy or on a three-year lease, so a hirer can match the cost to the contracts it serves.
What a first step looks like
Most hirers start with one MAX alongside the electric machines they already own, on two or three customer sites, and track utilisation for a quarter. We size the unit, train the yard team and provide the cloud data that proves fuel and CO2 avoided for the customer's reporting.
Electric plant without power is just expensive yard furniture. Book a 20-minute call, or see MAX at our London factory.
